Thermal Imaging

What Is Thermal Imaging?
Thermal imaging uses infrared technology to detect very small differences in temperature. Every material emits infrared radiation and when moisture, heat, cold or wood destroying insects are introduced into a structure its thermal signature changes. The changes can be minor or significant but with thermal graphic scanning technology the thermal signatures are detectable where they wouldn't be able to be seen with the naked eye. These differences can be used to identify areas where corrective action is needed.

ENERGY CONSERVATION
We can help reduce your fuel bills by identifying areas of heat or cooling loss. A simple thermal scan of the outside of your home can identify areas that are poorly insulated. A common cause of thermal loss is window seal failure but there are other significant areas of heat loss that can take the benefit of window replacement away. An internal scan of your home can identify ways to improve efficiency of Thermalappliances and identify unbalanced loads to circuit breaker panels. Moisture problems with walls and resulting molds and fungi can be
detected as well.

PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE
Equipment failure is always inconvenient for a homeowner but can be disastrous for a business owner. Preventive maintenance can help keep equipment running but the equipment has to be idle to inspect it. Infrared technology inspects the equipment while it is in service to determine the conditions caused by its operation. Blocked lubrication or drain lines, excessive wear on mating surfaces can cause expensive repairs. Bearings on motor shafts or bad electrical connections can be detected before failure results in downtime. Initial installations can be checked for integrity of electrical and hydraulic circuits.

All equipment has a thermal signature.  This signature, once recorded, can be used to watch for changes that can identify component failure within the equipment. All this is done during operation. No scheduled downtime is necessary. In fact, the process cannot be done on an idle piece of equipment. Perform predictive maintenance while your business is being productive!
